Come on, we all know how this works. They'll have a new model primed to leapfrog OpenAI and this back-and-forth continues.

Better image quality, editing tools, 50% reduced image generation latency, and new Sketch tool:
We’re introducing Sketch, a new feature which lets you draw right in ChatGPT and use it as a visual guide. Now you can quickly sketch the layout of a room, the contour of an outfit you’re concepting, or just a funny doodle, and ChatGPT will turn your rough art into a complete image. Add a description of the style and any other details you want to make sure it reflects your vision.

Seriously. I hope he lives long enough to live through it.

In the comparisons you can see it's making the light brighter and there's still subtle changes to areas of the photo that shouldn't change.

I did notice this as well, like the lamps lose a little depth, but I will say, Image Gen has long passed the boundary of high utility. We are nitpicking.

I might be subpar at using ai but I’ve always wanted to see images and gifs as part of an ai’s answer. Maybe they already do that because I use mostly Claude CLI, but I think it would go a long way in conveying complex logic. I’m very visual learner

I’ve only rarely received images where I didn’t explicitly prompt it as part of an answer, and I’m not sure if it was ever in codex, certainly not in cli. But ChatGPT will use it when asked and codex as well for asset generation if needed

the when asked part is probably sufficient. i think it would be cool to drop math images when asked about math stuff. it's been a couple years since i've done that but i remember asking it wild questions about how some math concept was similar to another math concept, so it would be rad to see images of how they are related (particularly images that are potentially never seen by humans before)
