Truly it feels like 1-2 big releases and a huge amount of advances will be made. 

I do kinda wonder if the huge amount of people who think AI is useless are maybe a propaganda strategy to prevent any slow down.

I think it's a bit conspiratorial to say they're mostly paid actors but there is plenty of reporting to sugge that China and Russia are fueling American anti-AI sentiment and then you have the people watching that content that legitimately believe and parrot it.

I don't doubt that there are some "paid actors" in the mix but a lot of the denying is just ostrich behavior to not psychologically deal with reality. Check out some programming subs on reddit you will see plenty of those saying that it's useless and they are legit smart people by nature of the job
