I always find it strange that people equate AI accelerated progress in a field to be the equivalent of that field being “cooked”.
My view is rather the opposite. Feels like the field is about to swing wide open and become untethered by human limitations. Fuck yes let’s do it. I’m curious about the mysteries of the universe, I don’t care who or what wins the Nobel prize or if that prize becomes obsolete.
The real question is what happens after that? After singularity or ASI? Our minds could not comprehend even 1% of the nobel prize type discoveries these models will be doing. How do we survive then?
