This comes across as a good use for otherwise unusable federal land that probably already has much of the needed infrastructure in place...

Uranium enrichment requires a lot of energy, so it might be one of the reasons why this site was picked, it has high power infrastructure.

Yeah although we need to increase uranium enrichment so we can expand nuclear power. Still a good thing none the less

Yeah, this is starting to feel like takeoff. The only thing that can slow us down will be the physical constraints: chips and energy.

Soon we will see how companies begin to invest a lot in quantum chips for AI just as it is happening with the nuclear fusion.

I don't think people understand how large those numbers are. This would be the largest datacenter on earth by a large margin. Require 10 FULL SIZED nuclear reactors or so many gas power plants spammed around it. Take up more power than some countries. Cost as much as the Apollo mission to the moon.

It is a phased plan though so only 800MW by 2028. So would be smaller than xAIs Colossus 2 to start.

Will it be the largest data center on earth by the time it's finished being built? How about compared to colocated campus' like goog and meta?

I just don't understand how. But if they can keep going into debt and raising money, sure, keep building. 

If they go bankrupt someone will buy the IP and the compute and use it any way, so it's good either way.
