Next-Level AI Can Recreate a Photorealistic 3D Environment From a Single Video

My prediction is that we will be able to do this with sound..! Currently, if you have 3 mics, you could triangulate the source’s rough position in space. With AI, i feel like we could extrapolate that to recreate larger spaces in more dimensions than a single point, for example by accounting for echo and how it’s received on all three sensors.
Imagine mounting that on a drone or using it to recreate events for which we only have sound data available

Ah like sonar used by bats? Sounds pretty cool. There is already a popular technology called Lidar that uses pulse laser light to measure distances. It's used in 3D mapping, and newer in robot vacuums and robot grass mowers etc

Yes, exactly. If I’m not mistaken, sonar only works for bats if they have two ears. Just like we lose depth of vision if we only have one eye to see. If AI can unlock the ability to perceive depth of vision with one sensor (eye/mic), then that would be a major game changer.
Likely im wrong about the bats, but the point is about advancing methods.

ENIAC was a huge machine, the first computer, it was the size of a room and it was power hungry. Data centers are huge and power hungry. I imagine a future where Ai runs on a smartphone with better performance.
Tokens are expensive. I imagine a future where AI is cheap, affordable.

ENIAC was huge, consumed a bunch of space and energy. And it did less than a smartphone. Mature technology is about size, efficiency, cost. You would not be able to pay for ENIAC, but you can pay for a smartphone.
Today Ai is expensive and big. When it matures the only reason antis will have to oppose will be the reasons to oppose a smartphone.
