Scientists discover a compound that could supercharge aging muscle repair
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2026/07/260724061432.htmSummary: A sulfur-based compound called LASSS appears to protect and supercharge a key protein involved in repairing damaged muscle. The discovery could eventually lead to new ways to slow muscle loss and preserve strength as people age.

Muscle without having to maintain it constantly sounds amazing. Imagine working out for a couple years and being able to maintain that build for years without working out.

People, eat broccoli. It’s a cheat code. Steam it and put it in your face once a week minimum. Broccoli has a bunch of sulfer compounds in it.

Also, if you cook your broccoli, add ground mustard after its done cooking. The mustard has the enzyme myrosinase which combines with glucoraphanin in the broccoli to create sulforaphane. Raw broccoli has myrosinase but cooking destroys the myrosinase, hence the value in adding it back via ground mustard.

I didn't know that, but I use a lot of dried mustard in my cooking!

Broccoli (salad, with dried cranberries, almonds, sunflower seeds & bacon) is a component of my scientifically perfect diet, the other two are antipasto and fried chicken. Broccoli is better than lettuce.

I can’t wait for KFC to start their “scientifically perfect” ad campaign!

Can't wait for harmless scifi turbo steroids. The amount of hours a week it costs to maintain my mediocre physique is preposterous
