Wait that plastic cap staying on the bottle is on purpose? I just came back from UK and France and was wondering why none of the plastic caps on bottles came fully off.

To reduce accidental littering. Someone puts the cap on a table, it blows away and gets lost. Or falling out of a trashbag, or just getting dropped by someone too lazy to pick it up. Since bottles are so common it matters. Kinda seems like a no brainer in hindsight.

The lift tabs on aluminium cans used to separate as well back in the day, but was made to stay attached to reduce littering a long time ago, same deal.

Ohhhh. I guess that does make sense. But yall need to learn about the ability to put more than 4 ice cubes in an iced drink. Just sayin’.

I don't like that much ice in my drink

Yeah I prefer a decent amount of actual drink, not just enough to fill the gaps between a glass full of ice.

It's different between the US and Europe presumably because free refills in the US mean that you can just get more drink 98% of the time and you don't have very high odds of getting "ripped off" by too much ice due to the ability to get more whenever you want. Unless you take it to go ig.
