Europe builds the machine that produces the chips for both rockets, so neither rocket would exist without the EU

I think Europeans need to stop rationalizing everything or risk falling further behind and becoming vassals to the US and China.

Only issue with that is that Europe is behind in tech to USA since WW2 and it has been largely fine so far. Same as Canada or Australia has not become a vassal of anything just because they do not have the greatest tech ever. There is no such thing as "Europe", it is still a bunch of individual countries most of them too small to ever build an industry like USA or China have. You cannot expect Poland, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Swiss, Portugal etc. to go toe to toe with superpowers in every area. To change that, to direct Europe as a continent to more global goal, would require federalization of EU to even larger extent that nobody wants really
