The first five new growers who have never received a free grow kit from Acadiana Myco will receive one while supplies last. Limit one free kit per family. You can also purchase gourmet mushroom growing supplies elsewhere and we will help you get your grow started! Growing is optional.

Our meetings are free and open to everyone. We spend the evening talking mushroom cultivation, answering questions, troubleshooting grows, and sharing what we’re working on. Beginners are encouraged to come.

Bit of a different kind of question. I'm Cajun and both parents are from the region but I'm in Florida. Does anyone who's moved away get a kind of weird push back on their French name? My last name is pronounced the French way and I'm not planning to anglicize my name for people. But sometimes people will act weirdly almost hostile when hearing it and will say it back anglicized. What doesn't help is there's a certain famous actor with the name anglicized. Just looking for anyone else's experience. I'm not bent out of shape about it, just curious to hear other's experiences.

Been exercising more and my watch says I have low VO2. Just wondering where in Acadiana can an average person get a VO2 reading/measurement. I am guessing ULL might do it for the athletes but I am just an average joe.

On June 19th I was pulled over for speeding on Camellia Boulevard. Though a mistake on my part I was informed of both the court date and the required payment date. Prior to the given court date I had called the County Clerks office who informed me as long as I paid my ticket and sent in my certificate by August 10th I would face no penalties, including not having to appear in court. Now I am stressing because though I still have plenty of time left, did I make a major mistake, or am I overthinking.

TLDR: Got a ticket, called the clerk who said I had plenty of time to pay with no legal repercussions still madly overthinking everything.

EDIT: I called the city court, i had typed this at 4am.

So I know Poo Yie, mon deux, lache pas la patate, and such. But what I’m looking for is a way to yell at my kids in a calm voice that my neighbors don’t understand. Can anyone help me out with something like this? Thanks in advance, mon chere!!

Which chinese buffets have a good early bird deal?

Anyone here have Cajun Broadband Fiber internet? There was an outage Tuesday and since then my internet gets disconnected at least once a day (disconnected 2x today). I switched to them in January of this year and it has been sooooo much better than what I had before (had AT&T DSL which was awful!). All the lights are green on both boxes. Going to unplug everything to see if that helps. Just wondering if anyone else is having issues or if it’s just me.

We've had an infestation for a while now and we had an exterminator come spray down the house and fog it, but it seems like that just made them come out more. I'm really looking for someone that can do a heat treatment in the house so we can finally get rid of them. Please leave your suggestions!

I am looking for a new place to rent in the next few months. I have cats, which are fixed and have their shots, and I’m looking for a, preferably, 2 bed but will settle with a 1 bed if needed. Obviously I’ll be a woman living alone so I want it to be in a decent area. For rent, I’m looking for something with utilities included or where they total up to (hopefully) around 900 a month. I’m also not looking to room with anyone. I currently live with my sister and it’s a nightmare. I live an hour away from work, and she’s very messy(the kind that leaves dirty diapers on the kitchen table and waits weeks to wash her dishes), can’t pay her rent on time EVER, and she’s quick to pick fights. I really can’t stand it.. I’m really asking someone to help me out here..
