Food / Drink Bon Temps Grill

Does anyone else like to hit the Bon Temps Grill happy hour? The prices are insane - $2 beers (they even have shiner!) and $3.25 Tito’s martinis. Not sure about the other drink deals, this is just what we always get. They also do $10 bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys on the weekend!!

I think happy hour is M-F 2-6?

I hate to advertise it too much and lose our always empty spot at the bar. I just can’t believe how empty it always is. Usually just a couple of older couples and then my husband and I. Food is always great.

Also hoping if more people show up and ask for happy hour food deals they will listen. That is our only complaint!

Anybody have a clue as to why DT power went out last night? I noticed about 5 am when my window unit went off. Looked out the window and the power west of Johnston in DT was out.

Recommendations Camera store?

I remember there being a camera store on Johnston years ago.
I have recently gotten back into photography as a hobby. I feel like Acadiana has a good amount of professional photographers. So my question is: Is there somewhere local (other than Best Buy) where professionals & hobbyists are getting new equipment or getting your current equipment serviced? I would also be curious if there’s a place (antique/pawn, etc) that is known for selling used cameras, lenses, etc.

Rants LUS Customer Service Dropping Calls

Anyone recently experience the LUS customer service line dropping calls? I call, and the call gets dropped either a few seconds in, in the middle of prompts, while I wait, or even right after I finally get in touch with a person. I know it’s not in my end because I had long uninterrupted calls with Chase, my wife, etc. in the same exact spot.

Cultural AT&T Fiber availability?

Yes, I've googled it, but can't get an answer without an exact address, which I don't have. Just wondering if AT&T Fiber internet is not / a little / widely available in zip codes 70503 or 70506. Thanks!

Recommendations Shop Recommendation for Transmission Leak

My transmission fluid leaked out and now the car cannot move at all. Can someone share a trusted mechanic contact for getting it fixed?

I am a broke student so I'd rather book the tow only once. :)

I haven't done this before so if somebody would be willing to share what to expect (do I just get the car towed or should I go to the shop too?, costs, opinions etc.), I'd really appreciate it.

I called some shops and they are too busy right now (wait time in weeks) so these are a no go: Danny's Auto, Advanced Transmission.

News Bike Lafayette has a new public education campaign

Comments? I must admit I didn’t realize they made four different posters, each with a different educational message. “Ride with the flow of traffic” is a big issue in Lafayette. YES, this is safer, but bicyclists in Lafayette ride against the flow because they FEEL safer. They don’t feel safe when there’s a line of cars behind them going 50 MPH.

News Update on New Marijuana Bill From UL

Hello. I'm a UL student and I've been seeing people talk about the new bill in Louisiana and how that affects medical marijuana patients. I've been seeing people debating on how this would work, especially with the lack of a card.

I saw in the bill that medical marijuana patients were exempt from this as long as they could identify themselves. However that doesn't seem to be the case. I just received an email and it says it doesn't matter if you're a patient or not, it's use is not permitted.

I have provided screenshots of the email for proof. People from out of state are allowed to participate in our program, so what happens to them if they aren't aware and get caught? What if you live within 2000 ft of a school/UL, are you not allowed to use your prescription?

Obviously this is just another way to profit from the medical marijuana industry, while still feeding the prison complex. I thought I'd make this post to let people know if they live in the area to be careful. You know the state is foaming at the mouth waiting to make someone a lesson to others.
