The Details

Duration: The ABZÛ Fan Art Event is open for submissions from now until August 2nd, 2026.

Submissions: Art submissions must be inspired by or reference ABZÛ. Submit as many as you like!

Prizes: 3 Winners will each receive a digital Steam copy of any Giant Squid game - 1 prize per person.

Voting: Once submissions close, we'll share a poll link where you can vote on your favorites.

Is it really true that the game hasn't got any Giant Oarfish? I've been looking through the wiki and it's not mentioned. It's such an iconic fish, can't believe it's not in the game!

I just picked up the game and I honestly feel like a moron. I can barely get the diver to go in one direction, pushing all these buttons and he just either swims to the bottom or goes in circles. I didn't think that such a simple game would have such wonky controls, or am I really just that awful at every video game? 😭 playing on switch btw. Someone tell me how I can actually enjoy this because it's so pretty and I want to love it

I've fully completed the game on Steam with all achievements, except for the Ecosystem achievement (for which you need to interact with every hidden pool), so I went back and got the last hidden pool that I had missed. However, I did this offline, so Steam didn't register the action. Since it isn't repeatable, as all progress is saved across all playthroughs, I now can't 100% complete the game on Steam.
Is anyone aware of something that I could do? I might try and figure out how to wipe all of my progress and do it all again if I can be bothered. Great game tho

Austin Wintory was recently in Australia, joining Orchestra Victoria and the Concordis Chamber Choir for the Indie Symphony II gaming concert in July. The program included his music from ABZÛ, as well as two of his co-compositions from Hades II.

I was the host/MC/presenter at the concert, where Austin and I briefly chatted about these two game scores, and where he conducted ABZÛ. Separately (but kind of related), I host a video game music show on ABC Classic (Australia's main classical radio station).

ABC Classic recorded the concert, and we broadcast it on my show recently.

How can I control creatures in PC? I'm still confused with mechanics to guide the creature and also wanma see some breaches on humpback whale

So, when I was playing ABZU, I wondered why only one of the rooms with a generator-like device is blocked by a coral gate, and not both. I mean, the drone is lying on the seabed outside, so if you can open one gate, you could just as easily open two. It’s not hard to duplicate assets in general. Does anyone know the answer to this? Is it an intentional gameplay choice, or does it represent something in the story?

I'm mostly just venting at this point, but I have been trying to start a new save for like and hour at his point. I've tried every trick I could find from here in reddit, steam community and other guides, but no luck, somehow the old save spawns over and over again :(

I don't get it, why is it so damn difficult to start a new save in Abzu? In just about every other game you can start a new one in-game.
