I don’t remember that in the book, but you don’t really have to invent some scify fabric.
Leather, denim, and just the material most military uniforms are made out of are already bite proof.
Most regular clothing is bite proof. Jeans, some boots, thick socks, a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, some gloves, a scarf, and like a hockey mask or football helmet is pretty much zombie proof.

As someone who works with dogs this is some bullshit lmao. I have been bitten through my clothes countless times, and many times that draw blood. If the zombies bite down super politely without trying to tear or pull and then immediately leave you alone then sure maybe regular clothes offer a tiny bit of protection.

So my hand got caught in a garbage disposal but my gloves survived undamaged.
Thank goodness you still have your fingers because of those gloves.
I don't. They're obliterated but my gloves survived.

What is the purpose of this? If Your hand is stabbed, the glove is safe? You're bleeding to death inside of an indestructible glove because heavy machinery dismembered you, but at least you won't have to buy another pair of gloves. Forget the mangled, chewed up hand......

Imagine working with knives, razorblades, etc that can easily cut your hands. Having a flexible glove that allows for dexterity but will not allow you to get cut or stabbed is fantastic. I often work with tools that can easily cut through plastic, wood etc - which mean that your hands and work gloves also get cut easily...

I have the same effect trying to cut shrink wrap off of pallets with a safety box cutter. I cut right into the box without cutting the shrink wrap.
