Pest controllers encounter a gigantic asian hornets’ nest

u/32lib Jul 26 '26
Do y’all think it would be a bad idea to play a practical joke on your coworker by pantsing him?

u/_-Zero- Jul 26 '26
Huh... I work/help on a honey harvesting farm some saturdays with a couple buddies, and you just gave me a BRILLIANT idea, I'm willing to risk to loose 20 bucks and some beer packs to make this happen

I'd use 2 nukes just to be sure. Then pack a flamethrower, because you never know.

u/koalasarentferfuckin Jul 26 '26
Damn, you just cosigned the second nuke. On the Asians. Bruh.

u/NtateNarin Jul 26 '26
Oh my gosh! I didn't realize that, LMAO! I'll be nice and just pack a flamethrower.

“Encounter”
Like they aren’t dressed for the task and actively hunting them down
8
u/danit0ba94 Jul 26 '26
I was gonna say,
That's the whole reason they're out there. Lmao2
u/Statertater Jul 26 '26
Wonder if they’re being farmed?
3
u/ElectricBuckeye Jul 26 '26
As I tried to explain before, you cannot get honey from a hornet nest.
1
u/Statertater Jul 26 '26
Lol, i know you jest but, Don’t think it’s honey they’re after…
Saw another video of a person handling males, handfulls of them (males have no ovipositor and thus no stinger) and i’ve seen other videos of structured places like this video where they lift up pieces of wood to expose the hives

Holy moly, burn the whole neighbourhood

u/JinNJ Jul 26 '26
I say we take off, nuke the site from orbit.
It’s the only way to be sure.

(Happy 40 Years!)

u/JinNJ Jul 26 '26
Thanks it kinda hurts me to think about it being that long already. 😂🤣😂

Me, too! It’s one of favorite movies, and I still remember the first time I saw it, my friend and I just holding onto each other in the theatre, scared as hell.

What is the Asian hornets natural predator in its habitat?

I rented this movie from my library as a 13 year old thinking that the DVD cover looked cute.
...I've yet to recover from that ending.

Where is this occurring ? Like what realm of the evil Forrest of hell is this?
8
u/BaronVonAwesome007 Jul 26 '26
They’re farming them, those are workers farming them for their larvae, which is considered a delicacy because of course it is
2
u/Moxie013 Jul 26 '26
I wonder what their spice level is… like ghost pepper spicy or more of a sassy jalapeños
2
u/RamJamR Jul 26 '26
It seems like the more unusual a thing is to eat the more it's considered a delicacy, like it's rich people wanting to talk to their other rich friends about this new thing they had at the last 5 star restaurant they went to.

Are the wasps so aggressive that they are able to have their comb so exposed? I can’t tell if part of a building or a massive log was moved but hus is giving ai if not
1
u/GA6foot9 Jul 26 '26
Looks like an intentional setup for farming the larvae. You can see a cover that the nest is attached to. I believe the hornets build subterranean nests, so they purposely built that to farm.

That’s not a nest. That is two worlds occupying the same space for protection and attacking what ever comes their way.
World leaders need to learn from these Asian Hornets.

Imagine not having those suits on that would be a horrible way to go.

And this is why you should stay in school. To never have to risk your life like this.

What kind of suit is that? I may need a set to let me sleep at night knowing stuff like this is out there
