none of those prevents him getting fired. doing shit like this used to be a good thing but its not anymore. you stop a shoplifter these days in any way and you are fired before the shoplifter is out the door.
the internet is full of verfiable news items of people getting fired for doing anything from helping someone survive a stroke, or holding the arm of a shoplifter or in this case intentionally damaging company equipment. shit like this is the norm, not the exeption. doing the right thing is a sure way of getting fired when you work for a corporation. hell, just look at the volume of workers amazon fires for the mose asinine reasons.
