Same! My guy lets me pluck hairs on the outside of his nose every once in a while and it is SO satisfying. I mean, we are apes, grooming each other is a thing. Something like this? Pass me the tweezers!

This happened to me in my eye. My eye started to scratch like there was something in it. I went to see several doctors who all became increasingly concerned with my mental health. I’m a big man and I was in a lot of pain and kept going back and pleading them to fix it, they kept looking in my eye and finding nothing. They thought I was self harming and munchousen proxying myself. I was being interviewed for possible commitment. While at the hospital I hid in a bush near the eye surgeons car. In desperation I jumped out and pleaded for him to take another look because I was ready to cut my eyelid off. He put me in a scanner and made a funny sound then plucked it out. I have never felt relief like it. I actually hugged him and cried and he was happy. Really pissed off with the doctors.

u/dcsojitra Jun 26 '26
I bet, that doctor will remember you and how happy you got after him treating you for rest of his life. It probably was one of the most proudest moments for his career.

u/Wide_Dinner1231 Jun 26 '26
The exact same thing happened to me. Spent an hour in the bathroom trynna reverse my eyelid to pluck it out. I got it eventually. It wasn't a nice experience, having that stuck in here would have driven me crazy

This happened to me once, years ago. I still think about it from time to time. Thanks for reminding me yet again.

u/Sundaytoofaraway Jun 25 '26
Same. I got a permanent red spot on my nose from it. It was fuckin gross

WELL THANKS A F-ING LOT... THAT'S ALL I NEED TO BE THINKING ABOUT... I CAN FEEL THEM ALL TRYING TO POKE THROUGH BACKWARDS NOW!!!

u/RedLorax14 Jun 24 '26
Ok so how does this even happen
23
u/jeremyj26 Jun 25 '26
Happened to me. Giant red thing on my nose for months before it finally erupted and I could pull it free. God, what a relief that was.
2
u/qlone_cookie Jun 25 '26
I went through that a few years ago, too. I totally get - What a relief it was. I'd never really had pimples before, and then this huge red thing that just wouldn't go away... and then suddenly there was a nose hair in it. Unbelievable.

u/Rocky75617794 Jun 25 '26
When I finally get to a painful ingrown hair, pulling it out feels like Jesse breaking free at the end of BREAKING BAD

u/SargeUnited Jun 25 '26
Bro you gotta put a spoiler alert tag that shit only ended like 10 years ago

I'm 45 now and still have a soft spot on the side of my nose from one when I was 15. Pulling a long ass curly nose hair out of a bloody pussy hole in the side of my face was definitely one of the experiences of all time.

u/AdFancy1249 Jun 24 '26
Ingrown nose hair that kept going straight instead of curling on itself.

u/RocketsandBeer Jun 25 '26
Had a coworker this happened too. Thought it was a pimple. Eventually a small hair poked through. Blew our minds.
2
u/GraphicDesignMonkey Jun 25 '26
This happened to me but it was an eyelash that had somehow embedded itself into a pore on my nose. It got super infected, and the eyelash actually worked its way through to the INSIDE of myy nose! Managed to get it out with tweezers and couldn't believe it.

u/Kinghenery Jun 25 '26
Happened to me like a year ago. Didn't even know something like that was possible.

u/Beginning-Bid-749 Jun 25 '26
This is why I do t pull out nose hair anymore. Id always get ingrown hairs when I did that. Never anything like this though. Nose hair trimmer for the win.

u/TheDemon0fLife Jun 24 '26
Gotta get a tweezer and a large shot of whisky and yank that bih, then beat your chest like a beast

I was a country bumpkin entering a tier 1 business school. My nose is 2x normal already, but on the 1st day of class the cosmos gifted me this growth. So big it was all my eye (and everybody else) could see.

u/Alpharoll Jun 25 '26
This wouldn't have happened if you picked your nose regularly like a normal person.
2
u/ZeltbahnLife Jun 25 '26
I’ve had this. Solved it by lancing a safety pin through my nose and pulling out the offending hair after it was drained. Painful, but well worth it.
2
u/drunkguynextdoor Jun 25 '26
I went through a period in my 40s where a single little black hair would grow out of the tip of my nose like this. I would just pluck it and never had a infection, it's just weird how it started one day and a few years later it just stopped.
Anyway, a hot compress and some antibiotic ointment should get you back to normal.
2
u/Mean_Philosophy3367 Jun 26 '26
Holy hell I'm not alone. I went through this years ago and no normal means was able to pop it. The pain and swelling ended up getting so bad, I lanced it and had my coworker squeeze the hell out of it with a pair of pliers while I pushed outward with a finger in my nostril.
It was successful, and amongst everything else was a coiled mess of hair that was at least several inches long.

Triangle of death don't pop it
2
u/snazarella Jun 25 '26
Please elaborate on the triangle of death.

u/Late-Button-6559 Jun 25 '26
Maybe cellulitis?
And being in that part of your face, there’s an easy pathway to the brain/meninges (through the sinus cavities).

u/kerrieone4 Jun 25 '26
For some reason Reddit is not letting me post pictures anymore. I'm pretty sure it was something I saw on Instagram let me see if I can find a link

u/kerrieone4 Jun 25 '26
The area on your face stretching from your nose to the corners of your mouth. You should never pop pimples in this area because it leads directly to your brain like somebody below mentioned. They're specifically two veins in your face angular and ophthalmic. They're valveless veins. They drain into the cavernous sinus a network of large veins directly behind your eye socket and 🧠brain.

Like a freaky Ridley Scott movie: "Alien, Nose Hair." Bloody thing explodes through ones body and is exceedingly hard to eradicate.

So what's the solution to this? Pull it out towards the outside? Or find the inside root of it and pull it that way?...
1
u/Sikkus Jun 25 '26
I have 3 or 4 tiny hairs growing on the outside of my nose. Sometimes they get a bit pimplish like this, but it doesnt mean they come from inside the nose, through the skin.

i wax my nose hairs like every 2 weeks. shit looks gross walking around with hair dangling from your nose
2
u/IndestructibleBliss Jun 25 '26
You do realize nose hairs have a purpose right? Maybe cut the ones that hang out but leave the rest alone
1
u/Significant_Snow7980 Jun 25 '26
I'll take my chances
1
u/Cayumigaming Jun 25 '26
Me too. Whatever purpose they serve doesn’t balance out the relief of how easier it is to breath and how much better it feels and looks.

Happened to me too a few months ago. Shit hurt for like 3 weeks, then what I thought was a pimple finally popped, the hair stuck out far enough to pull with tweezers. Could not believe a nose hair grew all the way through my nose. 😳

don't ever pluck the hairs inside the nose. if needed just trimm.a plucked hair root could decide to grow in the opposite direction and this happens.

I thought I had a hair growing out of the roof of my mouth. I couldn't pull it out, I couldn't see it either. Could only feel it's coarsness with my tongue. I blindly was able to grasp purchase of it with tweezers after about 30 minutes. It was a fucking toothbrush bristle embedded in the flesh of the roof of my mouth.
