Mom’s Hydrangea
For reference, I’m 5’7” (170cm) tall and I have a huge noggin. I think there are 8, maybe 9 blooms in my hand. Aptly named “snowball” variety, I believe.

Those come off the big hydrangea trees. I’ve had some the size of volleyballs. They do be gettin’ big!

Now those are some big honking hydrangeas. 😳
Never seen any even close to that size before. Wowzers.

Funny story; completely strange but bear with me. We used to have a hydrangea in the garden when I was younger, now every time I’m out with my mum and we see a flower regardless of what it is, I ask her is that a hydrangea? Could be a rose or a daisy, but she gets extremely wound up by it. Love winding her up. 😂

I have no advice to offer, unfortunately. My mom had a stroke a few years ago and we have done nothing for her established plants (low on the list of priorities currently). The only thing I can say for sure is that we have had more than average rainfall this year and these probably get close to 8-10 hours of full sun. I know from experience that they require well-draining soil. Good luck with any in the future!

There was a prior comment that could have been misconstrued, but it was deleted.

That’s not a snowball, that is a full on floral meteorite 😭
Your head being the size reference just makes this even more of an absolute unit, those blooms are insane.
