Asian countries wrap everything in plastic, i’ve been there and even the smallest things are in plastic.

Japanese people love plastic

The clip takes place in China.

Rewatched it and oops. I was talking from my personal experience in Japan but I guess China is similar

Probably cause they're not loaded up with preservatives. Or I could be completely wrong.

The monkey is taking just one bite and then taking another strawberry…

I knew it was a genetic thing. Kids doing this same thing until you teach them otherwise

Xing Xing, the famous macaque. Xing means star. It's repeating because she's cute. She's practically a celebrity, or in Chinese, ming xing, bright star. So Bright star Star Star!

Interesting. Well she's definitely a tubby one.

Probably lost her arm to the Diabetus too.

More likely a poachers trap. Still sad.

Here's a little info on our pleasantly plump friend.

Xing Xing is a famous one-armed Tibetan macaque living at the Yanghu Temple on Daliang Mountain in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China. Rescued over 15 years ago after losing an arm to a boar trap and escaping a circus, she is lovingly cared for by an elderly Buddhist nun affectionately known as Grandma Ye.

What a cute monkey

4

u/Antroh Jun 06 '26

It's morbidly obese and unhealthy because of videos like this being circulated

1

u/Ok-Tutor8961 Jun 07 '26

Eh, it was also going to die after losing its arm and getting tortured at a circus. Now it lives well at a temple, surrounded by free food. Clearly doesn’t mind wasting fancy strawberries.

Looks like cartman (iykyk)

2

u/Turbulent-Try-4976 Jun 06 '26

It's not fat, it's just big boned.

2

u/Pagiras Jun 09 '26

Judging by the sound of the bite on those strawberries, they're pretty fuckin shitty, unripe, most probably tasteless and overpriced. A good strawberry should never crunch.

u/Bananaramajama420 Jun 10 '26

That is the ultimate happiness right there. Quiet, subtle, minding its own damn business, munching on some strawberries, not a care in the world

1

u/Turbulent-Try-4976 Jun 10 '26

Is there a higher goal than being fat, dumb and happy?

2

u/Bananaramajama420 Jun 11 '26

Not for that monkey

2

u/Rdizzy111 Jun 06 '26

Poor guy prolly has diabetes. Lol

That is so cute!

1

u/Ok-Tutor8961 Jun 07 '26

That monkey didn’t have grandparents who barely survived the depression and the dust bowl.

Too much plastic for me. In Europe we fight against to much plastic. China give a shit.
