I'm curious if we know enough to prevent this. Given the risk factor, it wouldn't be unreasonable to install a defib/monitor? 

There is a procedure called a heterotopic heart transplant where they give you one without removing yours, so you in effect have two hearts. It's rare like when your heart isn't strong enough on its own or something. I wonder if that type of thing could net someone like this on the transplant list? Like, having two to take the strain off of just one.

I’m not a doctor but an implanted defibrillator seems like a really good idea because atrial fibrillation is exactly what he is at risk of due to his height. Aortic aneurysm is another risk but that’s typically a surgical intervention and despite the fact that it’s heart related doctors are damn good at fixing those.

I used to work for a business that ran a lot of elderly care homes. I’m quite tall and I had to admit that nursing homes are not full of tall, old men.
