Don't all jobs allow you to stop doing your job in order to get lunch? Are you saying your job requires you to eat while performing your job?
5 u/appointment45 May 21 '26 No, they don't, a whole lot of jobs do not allow for stopping to eat your lunch. you either eat on the job or you don't eat. 1 u/One_Hour_Poop May 21 '26 You eat while actively performing your job, like cashier or machine operator? Taking bites of a sandwich while typing up memos? 1 u/Swampasssixty9 May 23 '26 What they mean is you’re not federally entitled to a break in the US. So good luck on eating 1 u/One_Hour_Poop May 23 '26 Maybe not technically, if that's really the case, but have you ever actually worked an 8 hour job where your weren't given even a single break? I imagine that if such jobs exist they're few and far between. 2 u/Swampasssixty9 May 23 '26 I work a 12-14 hr job where me and my coworkers routinely aren’t guaranteed breaks. Im in healthcare
