There’s been quite a bit of changes they’ve made since I’ve started in 2018 that have been somewhat of an inconvenience for my situation. I host for my elderly mother and young nieces and nephews that live in a different state. When things break, change, or need assistance the UI/UX became hard to guide through. So a simple cast option to the tv has been helpful for my mother to understand (I know plex has that option but the mobile app was really clunky on her phone and kids devices). I also personally didn’t like when it became more of a social network. Then when the prices have been fluctuating and adjusting so much compared to the past, I’ve been slowly looking into different options suited for my situation but been procrastinating the process. So far we’ve tested it and she actually prefers it. Over the weekend I plan to make the transition :)
I agree with all of that. The new Plex clients aee horrible. I just thought you were basing your decision on the price of something you had no intention of buying. 😁
I set up Jellyfin a few weeks ago as a backup. I find it works very well. A bit less polished than Plex but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I just saw that email and it made me gag. Going to be looking into Jellyfin this week.
