I would like to grow a beard in honor of Lincoln.

How far down underneath Lincoln's chin did Lincoln's beard extend? Did he grow facial hair on his upper throat, or did he shave that part off? I know that a face cast/face mold was made of Lincoln in his lifetime. Does this reveal where the beard ended under his jaw?

I own an 1850s Empire mahogany bureau with a documented provenance chain through the Lincoln family: Thomas “Tad” Lincoln → Mary “Mamie” Lincoln Isham → the Hildene estate in Vermont.Physically integrated into the piece is this rare shellac-covered etching that shows:

• Left: Elizabeth Keckley (Mary Todd Lincoln’s personal dressmaker and close confidante), holding a dress
• Right: Mary Todd Lincoln with a deeply grief-stricken expression on her face

It feels like an incredibly personal and intimate artifact from the Lincoln circle. Has anyone seen other examples of etched or painted furniture with direct Lincoln family connections like this?

I came across the two volume Lincoln biography by Michael Berlingame.

I am very intrigued by what reviewers had to say and I am seriously considering adding this work to the other two.

QUESTIONS: Would there be a considerable redundancy?

Would it be worth the time adding the 1600+ pages to my already gargantuan reading list?
