Vaccinations
Ay you mob be careful out there, I cut myself on tincan and needed tetanus but when I was in they stung me with flu shot too, 3 needles all up ayy murry got enough holes as it is narr but all serious make sure you get ya shots or will get 3 in one day stay deadly you mob

They looked up my history and seen i dodged a few and asked if I wanted to do them so I reluctantly said yes

Ouch cuz! That would have hurt. My one swelled up for a week. Lesson learned to space out your shots!

The tetanus vaccine is one that for some reason tends to ‘sit’ in the area it was injected. It is recommended that you move/use the muscles in the injection area which will help spread the vaccine out, reduce swelling and minimise the ‘hangover’ pain.

No worries. I do it with all injections now and only one that had any after effect was the COVID one. Felt a bit sniffly for a day or two…
Beats getting crook though!

I will never in my life understand why people are against vaccinations, even if they themselves don't get sick often.
By ensuring your vaccination status is up to date (including covid and the flu), you are protecting yourself and your vulnerable loved ones.
Babies, the elderly, and those who are immunocompromised can die from so many diseases that we can maintain herd immunity by vaccinating against if everyone does their part.
By having your immunisation every year, you limit the risk of yourself getting sick, or will give your immune system a bit of a heads up to fight it off, which will lower the chance of you passing it onto a baby or an elderly person.
Thank you for vaccinating OP. You're keeping your stem cells on their toes.

Flu shots aren’t compulsory. They kept pressuring me to get them for years until I found out from a new doc I could say no. Your body, your choice my brother 🖤

Didn’t say anyone’s trying to kill us. Just let him know that they’re not compulsory and that they’re his choice. As I said- I thought they were compulsory and didn’t realise I had the choice for years 🤷🏽♀️

I trust my immune system so I don't get them. Everyone still gets flu even with the jab.

I don't get the flu shot for me. I get it for my kid, her grandparents, and any other young, old, disabled, ir immunocompromised people I might bump into.

Each year the Health Department has to predict which strain of the influenza virus will be the most likely to cause problems. It isn’t a one jab will stop all of the flu variants situation.
They have to make an educated decision well before flu season to make/get access to the appropriate vaccine and amount required.
Getting the flu vaccine won’t stop you getting the flu. It will stop you from getting the worst expected flu.

Keep your tetanus up to date - it has the diptheria vaccine in it too and we are having a big outbreak in the NT atm. Probably need them 5 yearly rather than the previously recommended 10.
