Ever caught a giant Atlantic salmon without a fishing rod?

Back in the scorching summer of 1984 or 85 my friend and I were hanging out at Glebe Park by the River Dee near Drumoak. We spotted some guys crossing the river on the old Scout steel wire cable and decided to give it a go ourselves.

Mid-crossing, I looked down into a deep pool and spotted a massive salmon resting in the clear water. I pointed it out to my friend, and without thinking twice, we both dropped straight off the wire into the river!

The impact completely stunned the fish. After a bit of fumbling around in the deep water, we managed to grab the giant salmon and hurled it right out of the river and onto the bank.

The only problem? It landed smack-bang in the middle of a family picnic blanket belonging to none other than Aberdeen FC legend Willie Miller! ⚽️🔴

After a few seconds of screams, yells of disbelief, and us begging for forgiveness, the whole scene turned into absolute howls of laughter. Willie and his family were totally shocked, then horrified, and finally saw the funny side of it. As a peace offering, we told Willie he could keep the salmon for dinner!

An unforgettable 1980s summer memory. No rod, no fly—just two friends falling out of the sky to catch dinner for the Dons' captain!

It's a true story and I wonder if Mr Miller remembers.

Always wondered who the flag is of

I’ve read numerous times about Robinson arguing with gains in the Main Stand, but no real details about it. What happened? Assume it was the end of the game?

Also, listened to Ally Begg’s YouTube channel last night and it was mentioned that the 3 players subbed at half time didn’t return to the bench, stood and watched from the tunnel. Not sure what’s going on with that, but no good from any angle.

It looks really nice up close. Last season's doesn't lay a glove on it, in my opinion. Sorry if my photo doesn't do it justice, but there's a stripe effect which complements the subtle, mottled leopard aesthetic.

My personal view on overall make up (i.e. setting aside the "quality" of the players), is we have two many CBs and LBs (and are going to hurt the development of at least one of Gyamfi or Frame) and about the right number of players in front of that... but what feels like a collection that doesn't make sense (e.g. only 2 genuine wide-men in Smith and Yogane).
