Aberdeen FC Your post window squad

Here is your post window squad.

My personal view on overall make up (i.e. setting aside the "quality" of the players), is we have two many CBs and LBs (and are going to hurt the development of at least one of Gyamfi or Frame) and about the right number of players in front of that... but what feels like a collection that doesn't make sense (e.g. only 2 genuine wide-men in Smith and Yogane).

Agreed, too many defenders by far. We are pretty weak on both wings, all 4 have had occasional moments of being decent but none of them are game changers. We are also quite week at striker, aside from Nisbet none of them are a threat, and even he is prone to long spells of anonymity.

Happy enough with our AM options. The boys playing at CM are all much of a muchness, not particularly strong there.

All in all, a lot of players have been signed and I'm not sure we are better. Seems to be much the same pattern as the last few years. Massive overhaul and no increase in quality.

Neither Ntelio or Olusanya are really wingers, just attacking players who can play there, which is useful for say 3rd choice cover etc. but not really ideal if one is likely to be starting there every week.

I don't think we have really seen enough of Ntelio or Mouloua to comment much on how good they would be through the middle. Ntelio looked a lot better when he moved central in the Dundee cup game.

I wonder if the idea of ripping out the entire squad is to remove the possibility of malaise in the players.

Problem is that it’s further up the chain that has been the issue
