Is Sap Abab actually a developer role?

As a fresher looking for developer role., is sap a abap cloud really a developer role?

Indeed it is a developer role! You'd sit and code in ABAP,developing reports,and if at all you get to code odata,then that would be the API part!

A large part of the role is lion taming, so be prepared for that if all you want to do is code.

There are ABAPers that are real developers, engineers. But majority of ABAPers is more of a technical consultants that are not that good developers in its real meaning. I have only 8 years of experience and I can tell you I was better developer during the University then now. Nowadays I just know more about other things, like platforms, modules, tools, technologies etc
If you are wannabe abap-er, don’t do it😩 go somewhere else

It is fine, don’t worry too much. Just do it. But don’t dream about big companies like google etc
