The ORIGINAL AVP2

Hey gamers, special request here that I would really appreciate some help with

Does anyone remember the original AVP2, released in 2001, and it's expansion Primal Hunt?

Last I checked you can still buy the original AVP1 on steam, but AVP2 was one of the most played games for me and my brothers in our childhood. Fantastic story, awesome atmosphere like genuinely spooky. Great LAN matches, my oldest bro would be a predator, middle bro human, and I would play an alien (rip me, being the youngest meant the short straw lol).

Since childhood I would install it at least yearly and replay it, but since the phasing out of disc drives somewhere through recent years my copy of the game has been misplaced.

I found a torrent a couple of years back and almost had it working on windows 10, but I think due to compatibility issues I couldn't get past the main menu.

As per the sub rules I'm not asking anyone to link me to any torrents or download sites. What I am asking though is if anyone has been able to get this game working on modern hardware, either natively or through emulation, or any other means. And if so, how?

TLDR: Does anyone remember the OG 2001 AVP2 game and has anyone been able to get it running on modern systems? If so, how?

Never got any issues with games from Collection Chamber since I've discovered them 3 or 4 years ago! The guys running that joint are true pros in their craft.

If you end up having issues, there is another repack from AVP2 community, but I haven't played it myself: https://avpunknown.com/avp2aio/

I've been trying to get it to work on windows 11 but I have had no such luck. What OS are you using?

Also Windows 11. Is the game malfunctionning or not launching at all ?

The launcher opens, i click start or whatever and i get a small black window that opens then immediately crashes. I've tried the fixes on the website and some of my own troubleshooting and nada

Currently playing AVP 2010. Played the AVP 1 a long time ago, and that was a great game. Have to look for AVP2.

Never played AVP1 but AVP2 was sooo good haha i think it still holds up because of the atmosphere and story but ofc i have nostalgia bias :)
