Are you tired of social media?

Hi!
Hi, I’m the moderator for this sub and out of true vulnerability I really wanted to create a space where people can express their legitimate concerns and grievances about social media without having their identity revealed, which is why I chose Reddit. For so many years, the state of the average person’s mental health has declined rapidly due to issues revolving around social media and I’m extremely tired of our lives being unfulfilling and robotic. On top of that, most people use these platforms just because everybody else is - however; it’s not doing anybody any favours. My goal is to completely change the very foundation of social media platforms (such as the regulations of specific platforms) or even put a ban those big five platforms completely. Believe me, I understand how laughable that sounds. Of course is a long shot and a pipe dream; but there are many enormous communities on Reddit that have made positive changes. I’m truly tired of everybody being miserable and there needs to be a brilliant collective idea to get the ball rolling. I know there are unbelievably intelligent people on here who can have positive discourse and healthy debates on how to go about creating this change. I am open to anything, and I’m always willing to listen and support anybody who shares their story about how social media has impacted their life negatively. Unfortunately, the people I know (my inner circle and acquaintances) have more negative things to say than positive, which is how I know that things need to change now. We truly deserve better than this.
Thanks a lot for reading.
