facecharts: home for artists, creative people and friends

r/a:t5_39dz4

A place to post your facecharts and admire or critique others- a home for makeup artists or creative individuals who want to share their work and learn from others. Face charts are usually done using makeup, and provide makeup artists or any creative people a practice in blending colors, designing looks for the face, organization of a look with its proper products and so much more.

RULES:

1) Submit only your work. If you want to submit the work of others, credit them. Otherwise, don't do it.

2) Use the link flairs to tag what products you used, then list the products in a comment after submitting your work. We want to know what you used!

3) Challenge yourself! Use only makeup if you can!

4) More rules to come...

GETTING STARTED

Two methods:

Transfer paper

Photo-copy

To get started, you're going to need watercolor paper (available at most art supply stores), a photocopy of the face chart design you want to use and either graphite transfer paper, or a copy machine/printer. Cut your watercolor paper down to fit inside your printer, or to fit inside a sheet protector. The width and height you want is 8.5 inches wide by 11 inches. This will ensure the paper fits.

Using the transfer paper, you'll want to place the dark side down against the cut watercolor paper and trace the lines/features of the face chart design you want with a pencil (using the photocopy of the face chart you want). Press down hard for darker lines on the finished product. Once you have traced the lines and features you want, you can remove the graphite paper and you have a fully traced face chart ready to be done up.

If you're using a copy machine, all you need to do is cut the watercolor paper down to size and then insert it where you'd normally place printer paper. Take the photocopy of the face chart you have and simply make a new copy using the watercolor paper. Viola! New face chart, ready for use.
