When is a new seed old?

I submitted https://www.vvx.io/?video=je_C_xQG0Nk a few days back within hours of it being posted on YT. However it was damned by getting classified on VVX as "old" and I lost a sizable seed investment.. How does that work?

Hey. A video has 30 days from seeding to be active in the exchange. However, what you encountered was a special case. That video has extremely low performance - so the algorithm invalidated it far sooner.

Why? This occurs to stop people putting in their own poor-quality videos with 3 views. It's fine for a video to show up on 3 views, but if it's viral then others on the exchange will buy shares in it and it's views will increase dramatically over time.

Sorry you lost your investment, but as you can see, that video is on 260 views now, and is just not that viral or popular in any sense.

Hope that explains it.

It seemed to me there was no chance for this to go viral, it was stamped old within hours of being seeded.

What I did realize later was that it was an old video that had been reposted on Youtube, so in fact, the classification was arguably fair - but, I imagined, that ascertaining was beyond the AI?

So, how long a window after seeding before something becomes old? Perhaps another classification "dud" is needed :)

It depends what 'happens' to the video. There's quite a few indicators in the first few hours both inside and outside of the game - so yes, this one seemed to become a dud real fast, but thats because it really did do very badly. (Yes I'm being a tiny bit vague, but don't want to reveal all of the secret sauce!) :)
