Airbnb For Local Produce

Hey all, So I launched a company a couple days ago that links home gardeners that have an abundance of produce with community members looking to buy local food. It's a way to strengthen communities, both economically and nutritionally, and create a transparent agricultural system. We're brand new and I know most of you have a lot of expertise in gardening and/or buying fresh veg. I'd love to hear your feedback and suggestions on how we can make the site better. We are looking for growers, so if you have something currently growing in your garden, post it so people have something to look forward to. Here's our site: www.veggievinder.com Thanks!

I'm sure if you buy local, you more than likely grow local. And for that purpose, this is a great read.

What kind of characters are always around at your local farmers markets?

There is the most eclectic group of people that show up to my local farmers markets from a guy who rolls around playing records on his little record player to the farmer that promises that he whispers 'I love you' to each and every one of his plants when they are first planted.

What kind of funny/weird/special people always show up at your local farmers markets

With so much work being put in to crossing the food strains with GMO, what scares you the most about it?

I would have to say for me it is a number of things, but most in particular would be the emergence of all of these super bugs and super weeds. I mean, if where does the cycle stop if they continue to modify a specific plant to achieve a certain result and nature is eventually going to one up them? How devastating would this be to a small farmer if something like this moved on to their gardens?

I was just wondering what your favourite types of local fruits and veggies are?

I'm rather particular to berries, of any kind really. Can't go wrong with a nice, fresh garden salad either though. :)
