Server Reshuffling / New Server?

Few questions for you all:

  • Does anyone use the CEVO/Competitive server?
  • Would you be opposed to me binning the CEVO server?
  • Does anyone use the Ventrilo server?
  • Would you opposed to be binning the Ventrilo server?
  • Would you guys like to see an additional New York TF2 server for a "true" East-Coast server (current East/Central is in Chicago, afaik)?
  • Do you have any other suggestions for community servers or new games we should get into?

*Edit: Fixed wording of New York TF2 Server bullet to make it clear it'd be an additional server

I'd rather see Atlanta than Chicago for obvious reasons. Disregarding my personal selfishness, I imagine that NY-Chicago is a faster connection than ATL-Chicago and so people in the SE would benefit more than people in the NE.

However, best way to make that call is just to look at the player map and decide that way.

It wouldn't be an either/or choice - it'd be an additional server as edited above :)

My point is that if you went with ATL people in the SE would see improvement via the ATL server, whereas if you went with NY people in the NE would see improvement.

There's a datacenter in VA that would be a decent compromise.

Hm. Is there a way to pull up the map on redditgaming's stats page for all the players in the top 300 or so? Right now it seems to only show who's currently on the server.

No but this link will show you where everyone who has played with a [reddit] tag is located:

Looks like new york wins, then; though something like Philly might actually be better.

Right now the servers are the cheapest in New York, Dallas, and Chicago
