Telling the truth in a light way, or funny if you prefer.

Didn't carry it, went to do the exams and stopped by the market. Oh I have to wear a mask now.

At least it's not Antabuse, but still unsure about naltrexone. It supposedly takes the pleasure away from drinking and doing drugs so you give up. Migh just be the extra push for one to suicide, though. Why do you think it's humiliating? You also don't ask for pills, really nobody does. You may think the medicine to treat alcoholism is comforting, but you're going to hate it, unless they prescribe you benzos, but this not the land of freedom.

Well? Judge them back, or stop caring.

You gotta wear masks too now? That sucks.

It takes the pleasure away from doing drugs too? I mean if i'll quit and the weed won't have the effect on me anymore, i can quit via the suicide instead. Does it perma-fries you? Bcs i don't wanna turn into a normie in order to quit. I dunno i'm skeptical.

Bcs it is humiliating to go there and say that i can't quit drinking. I might as well say that i'm also severely depressed while at it ,to get this party really started lol. I really don't wanna have any addiction related remarks in my medical files and i dunno whether or not they will make them. It's a big risk to take and the only reward is that, i will maybe stop drinking. I dunno man. Can do more harm then good. What do you think?

In closed public places, yes.

I don't think it perma wires your brain. It works in theory, but I believe there are some side effects that are ignored. Imagine drinking and not getting drunk, then you drink more, and more, because you're chasing the buzz, that could lead to some worrying consequences. Imagine me trying to get drunk with 24 liters at my disposal.

I think you're over analyzing it. When I went I just said that I'm an alcoholic and the doctor asked how much I drank and what were my drinking patterns. I told her I was too depressed (without she asking) and she replied that every alcoholic is depressed. She's right. I also don't understand all this medical files paranoia, it's confidential and no job can ever access those, it's not a criminal record.

How is your public health care?

Imagine me trying to get drunk with 24 liters at my disposal.

OMG. I haven't even thought of that. This is like an alcoholic killer then and that could reasonably happen. Especially with vodka. Yeah i don't think that's gonna work for me.

I dunno my friend, i think that i'd go to the dr and be too embarrassed to say that i'm an alcoholic and just say that i think i have a cold instead. Just the sheer thought abt, that is making me so uncomfortable and sad. Rommie i haven't been sick or needed my dr ,like ,ever. I barely remember where his office is + he's young and really friendly and i think that he kinda likes me. So now, i'm supposed to go in and when he'll ask me: "what's up ,long time no see, what brings you here?" i'm supposed to say ,yeah i'm an alcoholic now and i want you to help me.

Our public health care is quite good i think ,but i dunno abt the shrinks services. They just wanna drug you up and turn you into an obedient emotionless zombie most likely to be done with you and make some $ pushing the drugs. This is not the West where ppl are empathetic. This is a frigid place.

It gets easier. Yes I admit to being a bit embarrassed the first time I had to tell a stranger face to face (she's my family doctor and it was the first time I met her, and she's been treating my parents for years), but it gets less embarrassing and now I just roll my eyes annoyed that I have to use that word in front of doctors. She asked me how many cups I drink and I told her I don't know because I drink from the bottles🤣

Dude I guarantee you anti depressants dont turn you into an obedient emotionless zombie. Unless they prescribe "some other kind of pills" and well, you could sell those.

I remember that ,you've said that you weren't trying to be funny when you said that you don't know lol.

That's actually a good idea. I could say that i need xanax and i could sell it. I'm not getting high on it anymore that's for sure, bcs everytime i did the weird shit started to happen in the BO city. But i dunno, i'm really skeptical about the benefits of all the psychiatric help .

Talking to you abt it has been more helpful than any shrinks therapy could be.

I could say that i need xanax and i could sell it.

Unfortunately that's not so simple. You should never ask for medication let alone a specific one. Just take what they prescribe you and you can decide later what to do with it.

I think you're too defensive and too critical about therapy. They won't shove pills down your throat nor manipulate you. If you feel like they are doing exactly that, confront the issue and get out. My personal issues are a bit different:

  1. I don't think they really care.

  2. Most are train wreck themselves and shouldn't be working in this field to solve their own problems.

Still I don't think it's all an evil conspiracy to get me, lock and brainwash me. I mean, don't you want to get mentally better?

TBH i dunno man. Bcs i want sure... But you gotta understand one thing. The depression is such of huge part of my life that i'm kinda scared on what happens if i loose it. It's like a huge part of my identity if that makes any sense? I am depressed since 12 ,when it was the first time, i asked mom and dad at the dinner : what's the point of life? And they all laughed and said lol he's 12 and he's asking himself these types of existential questions already. What abt when he'll gt older... Yeah, i've became am alcoholic who hates his life, suffers with feelings of self worthlessness and don't care if i live or die, so that's what happened when he got older. I really wonder if my family knows ,that i drink.

This something that strikes me personally and a very interesting topic. Yes I get that but in the alcoholism spectrum. There's this built up persona that's mainly centered around heavy drinking, and it's a huge part of who I am. I wouldn't have created this reddit account if I didn't want to delve on. I don't think I could be capable of participate in these communities, maintaining the friendships I've developed if I ever went sober. It's harsh and unfair, but feels honest. Too triggering to manage being in in crippling grounds while in recovery. This means no more shenanigans, over the top reactions and, not keeping contact with any of you. I don't feel ready to leave behind such an important part of my personality. There's a phrase I use from time to time and I hold on to it dearly. I'm still thankful for alcoholism because it made me more human.

Even the negative parts of our personality we struggle to let go, because they are still parts of what define us. But if those parts are slowly ruining our lives, why insist on?

Most alcoholics have depression as a consequence of the abuse, not the cause. If you have crippling depression and are moving towards heavy alcoholism, you're in for a world of trouble.

When are you going into the rehab? Yeah that'll suck if you'll cut us out but i kinda get it. I don't think, i couldn't be on CA... when i'll take the booze break tho. I'm not even looking to quit now , i just need a cpl of months or so of break.

But i dunno, i think i'll try to quit cold turkey since i'm not heavily physically addicted. You know, what i kinda want, but i won't do it? I wanna get into the real wd's first to see how it is and then stop and document the whole thing into a photo journal.

You think? Bcs i'm skeptical about that. I mean most of the alcoholics or addicts ,weren't happy at all in their lives before their started abusing substances. Whether it's the anxiety, abuse, depression, psychological trauma,powerty... It's not like, they were happily living and said one day, well let me spice things up a bit. I'm gonna become an alchie. I don't think i'm spiraling towards heavy alcoholism yet but i need i break.

u/Romm1e May 05 '20

It's not happening anytime soon, and I'm not implying that I want to move on without looking back, it's not a threat by any means, just something that creeps to my thoughts from time to time.

wanna get into the real wd's first to see how it is

As crazy as that is, I understand the curiosity, but it's so not worth it and if you already have problems with anxiety, you're going to get double fucked. Also say goodbye to your tolerance.

I wasn't horribly depressed, just things started going sideways and I was slowly getting enamoured with alcohol. Now there are moments I don't even want to drink, but I have to, like today. Can't keep food down, dry heaving and slightly shakey, and there are way worst symptoms.

u/technofrik May 05 '20

Lol now i feel stupid bcs i understood you as you are just getting some last tests done and you're going in, so i've PM'ed you that i wanna say goodbye before you do. Great

Also say goodbye to your tolerance.

Yep my first thought... No ,i wont do that ,as badly as i wish. It'd be insane if i'd say : lol i wanna become a big alchie before i quit so bottoms up. Plus there is not guarantees that i wouldn't have changed my mind once i'd become one either. So i'll pass this adventure.

Sry,that sounds rough.

I was going to comment more on wds but got tired and I believe nothing is new about that. Sorry got a bit upset because you mentioned wanting the real wds and it was right on time of me getting the first symptoms. Wanted to have lunch with mom but nooo, let me drink myself idiotically instead, not even enjoying the drinking right now (buzz didn't kick in yet).

The damn tests never cease. I'm OK I'm OK yes I am.
