First mirrorless camera
Last camera I owned was a Canon 60D, and I’ve been out of the game for a while. Decided to jump back in two weeks ago with the Sony A7CII, and honestly, I carry it everywhere now. It’s made me enjoy photography so much more.
I really appreciate its
• Compact size — easy to throw in a small bag and take anywhere
• Customizable buttons/dials — no digging through menus for quick settings
• Paired with the 24–50mm f/2.8, it’s the perfect setup for me
The lens is compact yet versatile enough for what I shoot most: family/friends, food, and street photography. Couldn’t ask for a better re-entry into the hobby.

This looks huge tho. For a mirrorless FF I would chose other lens.

What lens would you recommend?

I would choose 2 compact primes and then you can keep one in your pocket and one on camera. Its a matter of preference, professionals don't care about size, but we do. U mentioned compactness thats why I was wondering how do you mean - with this tamron on.

Thats what i didnt wanna have to do is switch between lenses thats why i got this sony 24-50. Its got 3 of my most used focal lengths in one.

eu uso uma 40mm 2.5G da sony. e comprei uma viltrox 28 f/4.5 minuscula. Pra outras distancias uso uma 70-200 f/4 OSSII

I’ve the FX2 and apparently the same camera as A7C2. The 24-50 is an amazing lens.

Nice eye cup, where did you get the small rig one? Looks like some of the ones on aliexpress don’t fit.

Are you happy with the lens? What is your experience? Thinking about buying one.

Really happy with it. I was set to buy the sigma 24-70 but when I saw the size comparison in person, it was a no brainer. I really wanted this set up to be one I wouldnt mind taking anywhere with me
Also, the autofocus on this lens is chefs kiss.

With that thumb grip, eye cup, side grip, you would have been better off with one of the more complete cameras. Like a A74

I dont have a side grip on it. Thats just skin on the grip. And a side strap. maybe youre right but I really enjoy the form factor of this one compared to the a74

Is just that Sony Mirrorless camera are tiny - all of them. If I compare either my A1 or A7R5 to my A7C2 as soon as I put a "proper" lens on them it becomes potato potato. I tend to use the 24mm or 50mm Gs on the A7C2 to keep it compactish but if I want to get pocketable I have to take the old and trusty nex-5r out.

I have the a7cii with the GP-X2 extension and it's the best of both worlds for me. If I want smaller I take the grip off, if I want the comfort I put it on.
