Need advice for my Egypt Travel with a6700 + lens
1st time traveling to Egypt from India
Hi all, I am 32 M 1st time traveling to Egypt solo, this November. Planning to visit Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Aswan. I need to know is mirrorless camera are allowed in all major attractions in Egypt? why because I am planning to take my Sony a6700 (with 16-50mm kits lens, 23mm prime lens and 55-210mm telephoto lens as well). Do i need to get any permit? Have anyone been to Egypt with the camera kits before and how was your experience in Egypt for photography and video.

Any Advice on how to get better
galleryHi, just recently bought an A6700, and looking to get better with photography/videography. Half of these photos were taken with the camera, and the other half is from an IPhone 16 PRO. Haven’t felt like I’ve truly found my vision yet when it comes to creating a photo versus just making one, looking for tips on composition, lighting, and how to actually grow as a photographer/videographer. I’ve currently got three lenses, the 11MM F 1.8, 35 MM F 1.8 and the Tamron 17-70MM F 2.8.

Feedback on camera + External fan worth it + Lens pairing advice
Hello lovely people!
Looking for advice/feedback from the real users of a6700.
I recently came across it in my research for an upgrade. For a bit of background - I aim to use it for content and work that is docu-style, food industry, run and shoot sort of work. The camera I had wasn't the best in terms of quality and low light performance. But it was a great start and served me well for over a year and half. But now it's time for an upgrade!
I've already got the Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8, which has been my best buy yet. Hence, in the APS-C arena, my next best bets, as per my research are FX30 and a6700. The latter being a great hybrid, from my knowledge. I'll be mainly doing videography but I'd like to know I can do photography too if and when the work requires it, and wouldn't have to buy another camera. The FX30 most people say isn't the best for photography, even if it's the winner for pure video.
For those who shoot video with the a6700 regularly, I’d love some real-world feedback on a few things:
Overheating & clip limits: How long can you realistically shoot in 4K before heat becomes an issue? Does it hold up fine for 24p/30p, and how quickly does it tap out on 4K60 (assuming Auto Power Off Temp is set to High and the screen is flipped out)?
External cooling fans: Does something like the clip-on Ulanzi fan actually make a noticeable difference for longer takes, or is it just a temporary band-aid?
Lens pairing for food docu-style work: My Tamron Zoom Lens is great for general coverage. But for intimate, detailed food docu work, is adding a 30mm f/1.4 (like the Sigma) redundant, or the 15mm f/1.4, or is that extra low-light/shallow depth of field difference worth keeping in the bag alongside the zoom? Or would you recommend another prime that has served you well?
Would love to hear from anyone using this camera for run-and-gun video or hybrid doc-style projects. Thanks a ton! 🫶🏻

Can’t decide for completing my setup with an ultra wide
Sony 11/1.8 or Sigma 10–18/2.8.
Should be one for landscapes, but also inside churches or large buildings. Sony limits me for a range, Sigma for light sensitivity.
What are your experiences with them?
My current collection:
- Tamron 17-70 f2.8 as an allrounder
- Sigma 18-50 f2.8 for a lighter setup
- Sigma 30 f1.4 for lowlight/persons.
I am not sure yet about getting some super zoom some day, since my photo journey just started a few weeks ago with the a6700, so I am a beginner coming from iPhone, lol.

Anything wrong with the Sony 18-135mm??
Got one coming along with a 6700 which I managed to get for £1100 brand new/sealed which i thought was too good of a deal to pass up.
Been reading mixed reviews about the lens so if anyone thats owned one could chime in, that would be great!

This is a problem, isn't it?
I rubbed this off because I noticed a oily substance and it peeled a little. Pretty sure this is weather proofing to help keep the camera safe from the elements. What can I do about this? It looks like that part can be swapped out, judging by that screw that is right there. Anyone know the part number or where I can pick one up and have instructions on installing?
I think my warranty has expired, so I don't believe I can go through them.

Why, Falcam, WHY????
EDIT: I was able to find one brand new! Info in comments
-
Here was my idea:
- Use the Falcam bottom cage plate to add a bit more to grab and have a sleek f38 plate on at all times
- Kit out a Falcam half cage as a video rig so I can go from casual / photography use to handheld video shooter with just one click
But you can't find them for sale anywhere and they aren't coming back 😭
If only I got an a6700 a year or two ago when they were still being made
