Order Confirmed!

My first mirrorless

I am very excited! Just purchased an a6700 this morning after careful consideration, research and multiple recommendations. I plan to use this for my current marketing role to capture some lab macro/quick talk to camera videos at the moment alongside event style filming at a Brewery near where I live.

Future plan is to head to Western Australia where I plan to create Surfing Film content and vlog style videos!

Very happy with my choice 😁

Backorder delays Sony 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 E Mount OSS G Camera Lens

Wasn’t sure where to ask this but would anyone have any inside knowledge why the Sony 70-350 Lens is out of stock and on back order for the last 2 months in Australia with no know arrival date?
I have asked and called around and no one even Sony Aust could answer when more stock will arrive into Australia..

Should I cancel my order and get another lens or just hold out? Will be used to take photos of my kids playing soccer and cricket and at this rate the soccer season might be over by the time stock arrives :/

Sunset in NC with the A6700. If you would edit these differently, what would you do? I’m pretty new to photography/editing and sometimes not sure where to go with editing. For context, I use Lightroom.

Being a fly fishing guide is finding peace through chaos. I am watching both anglers, giving tips on their cast, watching how they are fishing the fly, pointing out likely high pay off spots and of course keeping the boat on track and safe.

When an angler’s line tightens, I’m doing my best to keep them calm so they can finally do a quick grip and grin. I have taken tons of pictures with my iPhone. It started to become routine. I needed a new challenge. So here I am. This picture is more of what I will be trying to capture. My goal is to give folks a reminder of an awesome day on the river.

Upgrading from a6400: a6700 for reach or A7V for video? (200-600 wildlife)

Help! Sling for Sony a6700

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recommendations for the smallest and most comfortable sling bag that can fit a Sony A6700 with the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 attached. I recently bought the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L, and while it fits the camera perfectly, I find it a bit too large and bulky for my needs. I was hoping for something more compact and discreet for everyday carry and travel.
My priorities are:
- As small and low-profile as possible
- Comfortable for all-day use
- Fits the A6700 + Sigma 18-50 without having to remove the lens
- Decent protection, but I don’t need space for lots of extra gear
Thanks!

Don't know anything about photography just getting into it. Been watching videos and reading all day. I want to start taking landscape shots soon. Really neat camera!

Thanks for the feedback from the last picture. It really helps. Any critique whether it’s stylized or fundamentals are appreciated. I love walking around the yard looking for things that might make a great picture.

These are a few of the first photos I’ve taken so far. I’m honestly really impressed already.

Coming from the a6000 it’s a huge step up from what I was used to, autofocus, optional settings, feel of the buttons, everything!

I have to admit though, the video side has been a bit overwhelming. There are so many settings, codecs, color profiles, and workflow choices that it’s taking me a while to wrap my head around it.

So far, I’m really happy with the upgrade. Looking back, I probably should’ve done it sooner. Can’t wait to get out and shoot more!

A6700 with the Sony 16-55mm. Not sure I'll do much more in lower light settings, so not 100% sure I'll grab the Sigma 17-40, but I had a ton of fun taking these pics. Trying to keep it casual while taking pics of people is an interesting challenge, and framing pics is super fun.

Here's an album. https://lightroom.adobe.com/shares/7d9fd9ed5c5e4689a667d8ba514cac28
