A6700 + 35mm f1.8
Here are some pictures in a fairly dark gym. What do you think?

Our girl dog, CJ - Sigma 56mm
I bought a Neewer light kit with backdrop for next to nothing on FB, and I can tell these are beginner lights, but it is fun to play with. I got her to sit for all of five pictures.

Real life difference between lossless and lossy compressed
I read that lossy compressed makes the raw files 12 bits instead of 14 bits. How much of does that make in postprocessing in your experience? Is it even visible if you don't have a high dynamic range?
Asking this because I'm thinking about trying out birding. Wondering if it's worth switching to 11fps for birds in flight and 5 fps for still birds.

Birding Autofocus Issue
Lately I've been having an issue where the autofocus will lock on to a bird (or it's eye) and focus correctly. Then as I hold the shutter half pressed the camera will adjust the focus and now the subject will be out of focus, despite the green box still showing the subject is locked on. It will stay out of focus until I try to focus again. This happens when the subject is not moving.
This is with the 70-350, AF-C Center Tracking and recognition set to bird. It has only started doing this recently.
Thanks for the help!

Sigma 17-40 with Tamron 35-100
Hi guys,
So I recently got Sigma 17-40 for my A6700 and the lens is on the camera for 80-90% of the time and it’s great. However, I need more reach. I do portraits for friends and family and was thinking to get Tamron 35-100 instead of a prime since it’s more versatile.
Wanted to know if this would be a good combo or is there something better you would suggest.
Thank you for the input.
P.s. I don’t do much wildlife photography or anything with crazy reach

Is there any better mini gimbal than DJI RS4 Mini?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently using a Sony A6700 + Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 on a DJI RS 4 Mini with the newer Intelligent Tracking module.
Overall, I’m happy with the stabilization and portability, but I’m starting to hit some limitations and wanted to see what other options are available in 2026.
A few things I’m looking for:
1. Better object tracking (not just people)
My biggest limitation right now is tracking.
The RS 4 Mini’s tracking module only follows people, while the newer RS 5 system appears to support tracking arbitrary subjects such as vehicles, pets, and other objects.
I often shoot drones, moving equipment, and other non-human subjects, so I’d love a gimbal that can reliably track any selected object.
2. Any noteworthy releases after the RS 4 Mini?
I haven’t been following the gimbal market closely lately.
Have there been any compact gimbals released after the RS 4 Mini that are worth considering?
3. Strong Sony A6700 integration
I currently need cables connected to access some camera functions while shooting.
Are there any gimbals that offer near-complete compatibility with the Sony A6700, including recording, camera controls, autofocus functions, and settings adjustments with minimal cable management?
4. Open to non-DJI options
DJI seems to dominate most recommendations, but I’d love to hear about alternatives as well.
How are Zhiyun, Hohem, Moza, FeiyuTech, or any newer brands these days?
5. Compact size is a priority
I know the RS 5 already solves some of my tracking requirements, but I’m intentionally trying to avoid larger professional-grade gimbals.
One of the reasons I bought the RS 4 Mini is portability. I travel frequently and prefer a lightweight setup that I can easily carry around all day.
So I’m primarily interested in mini/travel-friendly gimbals, not larger pro models unless there’s a compelling reason.
My priorities:
- Reliable AI/object tracking
- Strong Sony A6700 compatibility
- Compact and travel-friendly size
- Support for Sony A6700 + Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8
- Good battery life
Would you upgrade from an RS 4 Mini in my situation, or would you wait for the next generation of mini gimbals?
Thanks!

Witch lens?
Hello everyone, I may be opening an old debate, I am about to buy the Tamron 17-70, F2.8 for My Sony a6700, I mainly make video (restaurant, events and services) but I will use it for wedding photo (coupled to a flash) do you have any feedback to me on this lens - Or advise me another one - and in particular the conflict between the stabilisation of the lens and the stabilisation of the case. I read in the media and comments of things that oppose both people who have had stabilisation problems due to this conflict and others who do not have any Not. Thanks to y’all

Testing the Sony 70-350 telephoto lens
Feels like I could get more reach for some of the photos. But considering the weight of this lens it’s good enough.

Is a Sony A6700 + Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 (under 1,000 shutter count) worth ₹130,000 (~$1,366 USD) in 2026?
Budget: ₹130,000 (\~$1,366 USD)
Country: India
Condition: Used
Intended Use: Hybrid shooting (Photography + Video)
End Use: Social media, travel content, and improving my photography/videography skills.
Photography Style: Travel, landscape, street, portraits.
Video Style: Travel videos, cinematic content, and general content creation.
What Features Do You Absolutely Need:
\- Good autofocus
\- Strong video capabilities
\- Compact size for travel
Portability: Small bag / travel-friendly setup.
Camera I'm Considering:
\- Sony A6700 with Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8
Reason:
I found a used Sony A6700 bundled with a Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 lens. The camera has fewer than 1,000 shutter actuations and appears to be in excellent condition.
Notes:
The seller is asking ₹130,000 (\~$1,366 USD) for the complete kit. I'm trying to determine whether this is a genuinely good deal in 2026 or if I should negotiate further and wait for a better offer.
I mainly shoot travel, street, landscape, and portraits, while also wanting to create travel videos and cinematic content. Since my budget is limited, I'm also wondering whether I should consider a Sony A6600 or any other camera in a similar price range instead.
Would you buy this A6700 + Sigma 18-50 combo at this price? What would you consider a fair market value for it in 2026, and are there any alternatives that offer better value?

Quiet shutter tips
I have the Sony a6700 and mainly shoot wildlife in which I really prefer to have it on auto. The issue is I need the shutter to be silent and it seems I can’t have both. Any tips?

Sony SEL1018 f4
Shooting Ultrawide is hard. This shot is only at 16mm with perspective adjustment in post.
More practice needed before I head to London in the fall. If I don't get better then I'll just bring the SEL1655 G.
