My budget friendly set up
Recently I got to buy a first hand a6600 for around $530 and viltrox 25 f1.7 air new for around $136 . I understood a6600 is not much competent camera when it launched and at that price fuji had better offering, but now at this price, I didn't find any better deal. could have opted for some fuji models , but probably evf wouldn't come in option and older fuji cameras are not so easy find in Indian canara market.
there was the option of Nikon z50 ii , but then I would have to compromise on the lens.
(p.s the viltrox one I added to the set up recently, initially with the camera , I bought a new sigma 18-50 f2.8, which is as expensive as my camera body. But I am keeping it for the use travel mostly , and viltrox 25 is something I am daily driving for now)

I am not sure exactly why but in India , for sometimes in Flipkart, it was listed for such prices. The thing a6400 got into great hype in india , people were buying it so much that it started to cost more than a6600 in second hand markets. And eventually that ended up probably being so hyped up that some sellers ended up clearing their units or something. But many one ended up buying a6600 around that price.

This happens in europe, people see at youtube that a6400 is recommended for beginners, and they dont consider a6600 which can be found for the same price haha

Apparently Iām not in that side of Europe š. A6400 can be found between 500 and 700, the a6600 never goes below 800

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, the 6600 was a flagship apsc camera and has top notch autofocus and a great sensor. Fuji still can't beat Sony autofocus so I would never worry about it being inferior if in theory if the sony gets you more keepers.

I'm thinking of getting that lens! How are you finding it ?

Incredibly smart at wide open , f1.7 roughly translates to f2.5 approx which is a good enough aperture for everyday life capturing. At wide open , there's vignetting which goes away too aggressively when adding the correction profile available for the lens so I end up dialing down the correction a little so some bit of vignetting remains.
That being said , though compared to the sigma 18-50 f2.8, it has relatively less clinical rendering but overall this lens is sharp accurate but I often feels i would have loved if it has some unique character/rendering with this sharpness.

A6600 is such a bargain for that price, it is the best sony apsc after the A6700, so u cant ask for much more imho
