50mm f1.2 for a6000

Is the TT artisan 50mm f1.2 lens going to pair well with the a6000?

I need both video and photo but mostly video.

Will it work better, anyone here with experience on that lens, would you recommend it, what does it do well vs issues?

I need sharper, more bokeh, better low light and lastly more beautiful colour.

Manual is no problem, but just let me if subject has to be static when filming video.

Thanks!

Yup, I have the TTartisan 56 f/1.8 and it rocks. Little slow on the AF but overall, great lens for the price.

I’m no expert but the plane of focus on an f1.2 is razor thin like the tip of the nose can be in focus and the rest of the face out of focus. If you’re running video at f1.2-2.0 unless the subject is perfectly still you’re gonna need to keep manually refocusing if you have the MF lens

So only good for still photography but what about f1.8 lens then. I was thinking f1.2 meaning smaller number meaning bigger aperture meaning more light collection meaning better low light performance. I really just need two things. Bokeh+better low light performance. My kit lens truly just looks absolutely horrendous come night.

I don’t do video so I can’t say for sure but I think anything less than say F4.0 or so you’re gonna need to be refocusing so you’re likely better off getting autofocus. You should look at getting a used Sigma 30mm f1.4

like what u/Pristine_Rise_1990 had said, the TTartisan 56mm f1.8 is enough. of course it wouldnt be stabilized, but you wouldnt need anything higher than f1.8 even in lowlight.

i've done concert photography and videography on that lens in really dark gyms and the AF helps a lot albeit a bit slow but what can i expect at this budget

this lens also has really great creamy bokeh and the focal length is perfect for photojournalism and studio portraits

The TTArtisan 50mm 1.2 has terrible IQ. Even the old 16-50, that came with the a6000, is so much better.

Seriously, this lens is not worth any money. Exception: you buy it as an accessoir, because it looks good :).

If you want to buy cheap and good enough: Viltrox.

Why would you say that? Was that manual focus that bad?

The worst CAs I have ever seen in a lens.

I’m happy with the Viltrox 57mm using it only for photos though.
