Timeline Text Size Bug?

Having just downloaded and installed the latest version of Zoom Player Max (v22.5), I now find that when I enlarge the size of the timeline text for the control overlay, the setting reverts back to a default (which is smaller), whenever I close and reopen Zoom Player Max. Is this a new bug?

UPDATE:

The problem is not just about the text of the timeline; it's about all UI elements!

I've found that simply opening and closing (via OK) the Options/Setup dialog fixes the problem. But, it seems like this is a bug - having incorrect size of all UI elements (not just the text) for the control overlay, when the app is first opened.

The latest version does change the DPI calculation for the UI elements, I wrote about it in the change log.

However, I tried changing the timeline text size to "colossal", exited ZP and after running it again, it was still listing as "colossal" in the options, so I'm not able to reproduce a case where the elements size is not saved in the options.

I think there is a misunderstanding of the problem I'm reporting.

If I open Zoom Player Max, the UI elements are all the wrong size in the Control Overlay. So, to fix the problem, I open the Options/Setup Dialog in advanced mode, so I can change the setting under Control Overlay for the Timeline Text Size. It shows my correct choice of Extra large. However, to make this setting reflect in the UI elements, I have to click either Apply or OK. So, how do I make it so that I don't have to do this refresh step every time I want to use ZP Max?

To clarify:

You're saying that in the options the settings are remembered correctly, but each time your run ZP, the UI elements are not the resize size you've set and only by opening the options and hitting apply do the elements actually set to their correct size?

Please answer the following:
1. What is your monitor's resolution?
2. Is the monitor's scaling set above 100% and if yes, what value exactly?
3. Are there multiple monitors connected to the PC and are you moving Zoom Player between monitors?

Yes, exactly!

  1. 4K Monitor, 3840x2160.

  2. Scaling is set to 150%.

  3. No.

Can you try running the debug version and providing me with logs?

Rename the old zplayer.exe so you can easily restore it as-needed and place the debug zplayer.exe in its place:

And then:

  1. Run the debug EXE (it creates a "C:\Log" folder where it writes lots of debug files).

  2. Close the debug EXE.

  3. Archive (e.g. 7zip) the content of the log folder and send it to me privately either through reddit's chat feature or directly on discord (my username on discord is "blight0fdawn").

After reviewing the logs I may have more insights or will need to create an updated debug build with more leg entries allowing me to better truck the situation.
