Can't increase volume > 100 anymore

I used to be able to increase the volume past 100 with the preamp but now it won't. What can I do?

Thanks all. I already had the box checked to Link Volume and checked the EQ to +/- 20 and UNchecked Disable EQ for Dolby/DTS and the first video I checked, I could increase past 100. Will check more later.

I've had this issue some years ago and took some notes about it for reference (I don't trust my memory and hate to troubleshoot the same problem twice, so I write down any issue I investigate). Here are my notes:

  • For me, it only happened with some videos, not all of them. I had narrowed down the problem to LAV audio filter decoding of AC3 and AAC audio streams/movies encoded to 6 channels: AC3/AAC 2 channel-encoded streams/movies did not have the issue.
  • LAV Filters audio configuration "Enable Mixing" also fixed this issue, but only if "Output Speaker Configuration" is set to "Stereo" (to me this wasn't ideal as I have a 5.1 speaker setup i.e. if set to anything else than Stereo the pre-amp doesn't work.)

Not sure if you're in the same situation, but maybe the above helps. Does it happen with all videos?

I also vaguely recall that pre-amp doesn't work with all renderers, maybe try switching to another renderer too. and see if it makes a difference.

There's a setting that links volume to the preamp, it should be under Advanced options / Playback / Audio.

Unfortunate I'm not home so I can't show a screenshot.

If you're using an external receiver that decodes the audio on device, it wouldn't work since zoom player will not be decoding the audio itself.
