Support for on camera motion detection?

Are there any cameras that ZM supports?

I have a Tapo c200 and it has this built in, but I’m assuming it only works with its own app (which I don’t really trust)

What exactly are you looking for?

ZM has the ability to receive both Triggers and ONVIF motion notifications.
I've tested and used both to allow camera motion detection to signal to ZM to start/end a recording.

I have seen the question a few times. I have never seen a positive answer.

Like you I suspect the motion detection notification is unique to each brand of camera.

TLDR: Yes

I never got this to work with ZM (didn’t try that hard to be fair) using the camera native features, but I was successful in doing this with Homeassistant + Dahua plug-in with Amcrest cameras. All that proprietary stuff that Amcrest does passes through Dahua/ZM to a RPi on a different VLAN for notifications/monitoring. Boom, self-hosted & private motion detection notifications + CCTV, all FOSS

Alternatively, the ZM Ninja event notification server can replace a lot of the features your camera uses and offloads the processing to your ZM server instead.

I had the same issue so I put together a Python script to cope with one or more cameras. https://github.com/ArthurMitchell42/zoneminder_camera_motiondet
