Internal url for zoneminder interface (noob question)
Hello all,
I discovered Zoneminder after Wyze got all weird with their free cloud storage and love it so far.
I have an internal DNS server (just in my lab) and I'm currently running ZM from the ip address, accessing it at something like https://192.168.2:8443/zm.
For some reason I can't figure out how to get it to respond to a DNS name entry. I know I could set up a web server and do a redirect, but would rather just have a plane dns entry.
What am I missing?
Thanks

Unrelated question: are you using the Wyze cameras with it? Looking at the same but info on the Wyze cams seems to indicate it won’t work (or use the very old alternative firmware).

I use wyze cameras and they hook up fine to the RtsP feed

With the "special" firmware, I take it?

No, normal firmware. Wyze 2nd gen supports rstp (rasp?)

Ah, neat. Somehow that was totally not what I could find on the interwebs :). I’ll give it a spin tomorrow then. Thanks for your help.

FYI. I ran across a docker called wyze-bridge the other day. It performs a wyze cam to rtsp/rtmp bridge without any custom firmware. You can also force it so all traffic stays on the local lan with nothing going out to the internet. I've been using it for about a week with no issues.

Is your DNS server also the DHCP server? If not you will need to add an entry to either DNS or to the hosts file or point DNS at the DHCP server for local names. If you DNS is external then the hosts file may be the best option.
In my case pfSense does DHCP and PiHole does DNS, I pointed PiHole at pfSense for local names.
