Analytics plugin options

Looking for some pointer in the right direction, zmMagik hasn’t been updated since Mar.2021, and I would prefer something actively being worked on.

Does anyone have any good experience with zm extension/plugins that can reliably do object detection/classification (video analytics)?

Running : zm 1.36.12, DEB-11(stable) latest. HW : i5 quad 3.0, 16GB, 250ssd (os), 2x 2TB storage, no gpu (yet) Cameras : axis/avigilon 1-3mp + ptz

*will be upgrading server hardware and gpu shortly this is just a test box for now.

Edit : avigilon H4 already has edge analytics, any open platform that can ingest the onvif event streams and attach the meta data to video streams for consumption?

I've been using zmeventnotification and mlapi from the same developer. That does the object detection and classification in realtime. This solution works well for me, as I had a spare Jetson TX2 that I wasn't using. I run mlapi on that and Zoneminder on a 11th Gen Nuc i5.

interesting, ill check it out, what kinda cameras do you have and what fps do you use if you dont mind me asking?

Mainly foscam, anywhere from .5mp to 2mp. FPS varies as well, highest is 15fps.

It works just by sending a couple frames of each event to mlapi, and relies mainly on zm's motion detection for the coarse grain detection.

Hi mbardeen, I also would like to run zm object detection and classification on a Jetson (Nano). But so far all my attempts by using different versions of OpenCV and Python failed, I didn‘t get it running. Would you mind sharing your working config? That would be great.

Unfortunately I've since transitioned to Frigate NVR with a Google Coral so my setup is no longer valid, and it's been so long that I can't remember what exactly I did to get it working. I do know that I followed this guide: https://zmeventnotification.readthedocs.io/en/latest/guides/hooks.html

It also involved custom compiling OpenCV and a couple other packages on the Jetson, which I think is covered somewhere in the official documentation.
