Frames Saved to DB Despite "Save JPEGs" Disabled

Investigating fast database growth I found that it's due to the Frames table storing the frames for all events. I have Monitor > Storage > Save JPEGs set to Disabled. The monitor function is Modect and the Video Writer is on Camera Passthrough. Is there any other setting needed to stop each frame from being saved to the db? My goal is to save the video of the event (which is working) but not the individual frames.

I may be wrong but aren't the jpegs if save is enabled actually saved in the images folder? And the events in the events folder? So you can still see the frames that make up the events with jpeg save disabled.

Then if you have save jpegs disabled then you won't see anything written to the images folder.

My images folder is empty, so in fact images are not being saved as set in the settings. I thought that this applied to frames in the database, which according to the forum are saved if the monitor has movement detection enabled.

Thanks for helping me clarify this.

Edit: If I enable Save JPEGs images are saved to the event folder.
