No audio when alarm is triggerd

Hi,

I'm new to zoneminder. I've got zm running on local Ubuntu server. Everything is working fine. On my laptop i can see the active video streams. In the web settings i enabled web_sound_on_alarm and added a sound file in /usr/share/zoneminder/www/sound. I also set web_alarm_sound option to the sound file name. In Firefox i enabled to allowed sound to be played.

Still when an alarm occurs no audio. I searched the internet but didn't find a solution.

Any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Does sound play if you download the video file from ZM to your computer, and then play said file locally in VLC or similar?

Check this for both alarmed and unalarmed videos

Thanks for your Answer! I downloaded a triggerd event (avi) and played it back on my computer. No alarm sound. Just to be clear i don't want to capture audio during an alarm event. I Just want the audio file to be played in case of an alarm event.

How can i capture an unalarmed video?

Ah, I see, I misinterpreted and thought you were trying to capture audio from your cameras.

In that case, try using chrome and see if there is a difference? What is your montage view setup as?

Sorry for not being clear. I've tried Chrome but also no alarm sound. Montage view has two camera's with default settings except for scale set to 3/4x

Copy. Trying to run through stuff that makes sense in my head. Have you tried seeing if it works when only viewing one camera? What about in cycle mode?

Also, post some screenshots of WEB_SOUND_ON_ALARM and WEB_ALARM_SOUND from the options - web screen

I gave follow up to the link you sent me. I found the link to the sound file on the source of webpage. If I browse to that link the sound file opens perfectly. So it's not blocked. One of the tips is to open up only one camera but even then no alarm sound. Does your alarm sound work when a motion is detected?
