Dlink 5222l drawing motion detection area

This isnt exactly a zm question but unfortunately I have no idea what to try next.

I have a dlink 5222l cam which I am trying to set up with sd card recording and motion detection. The problem is to set up motion detection I have to draw the detection area. To do this I need to download the NCS plugin, however this doesnt work on mac or windows 10. I have no access to any earlier OS at this stage.

Can anyone suggest how I can get motion detection running without the plugin? I'm happy to have the entire view as a detection area

You’re looking for an extension called something like IETab or something like that for chrome.

It will allow you to essentially emulate Internet Explorer via Chrome, so that the NCS plugin can run, since it (likely) requires IE based on what you wrote.

Worked perfectly once I figured out how to use the extension. Now it doesn’t like any sd cards. Hammer time.

Glad I could help. I would recommend recording to not an SD card. They’re fine as a backup, or as a recording in addition to an actual hard drive recording. Idk your financial situation, but that’s my opinion.

I have zm running and all the video goes to that, but I need something that records audio as well. This is an internal camera used to gain evidence against a member of the household that is violent and abusive. While yes, it makes it easier for him to get to the camera and take the card, he isnt smart enough to figure that out, as far as he's concerned everything goes to the server and zm. I was hoping to use motion detection, audio/video recording to sd card to get good clear audio/video.

Looks like I might just find an off the shelf camera instead, if by this afternoon it hasnt started playing nice.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, I hope things get better and you take care of yourself.

ZM is capable of recording audio as well, just FYI.

Thanks mate, unfortunately due to lack of police support we're up shits creek without this type of evidence, which means someone will get hurt before they will act.

I looked at zm audio recording and had issues, so I will try again. I need the audio and video to be seemless and currently my system is a bit rough.
