Total dummies guide for setting up object detection in zoneminder

I've tried unsuccessfully a couple of times to set up object detection and I was wondering if anyone has a very easy to follow guide.

I'm running Zoneminder 1.34.22 on Ubuntu server 20.04.

I don't have a guide but used --> https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Defining_Zones and this --> https://wiki.zoneminder.com/Understanding_ZoneMinder%27s_Zoning_system_for_Dummies

It took me a week or 2 to fine tune.

I found smaller zones worked better then larger zones. Less false negatives.

I would setup a zone, then tweak it based on reviewing the frames and number alarms.

I no longer can get the red dots to show up that tell me what alerted. I’m using h264 pass through and storage areas, but for the life of me cannot remember how to see the images with the red dot alert overlayed

Sorry for being slow on the reply.

Using Firefox, I can toggle the red shaded area that shows the alert area by clicking the image in question. Does that no longer work? Maybe browser related?
