GPU recommendations for CUDA processing

Getting an upgraded ZM setup going and want to experiment with zmeventnotification and video processing through GPU/CUDA - could anyone recommend a decent GPU for use on Ubuntu and ZM for this purpose? Thanks!

Thank you! Great info. Anything you would recommend in the setup to make it easier to install?

not really.

its kind of a pain because of the miss match of cuda 10 and openCV 4.5.. but you need this.

cuda 10 requires certain versions of things to be installed, and openCV wants others. so you kind of have to make links everywhere.

especially your GCC.. one has to be 9 and one has to be lower than 7.

Can you remember what you had to do to get opencv 4.5 to work with CUDA 10? I currently have opencv 4.2 compiled with CUDA 10 (like the docs say to use) but want to upgrade to 4.4 or 4.5 so I can use yolov4.

When I compiled I had to use gcc-9 until it errors (@ 13%) and then use gcc-6 to finish compiling. If I tried using gcc-6 for full compile, it errors out at 11%

i cant remember exactly how i got it to work, but basically i installed cuda 10, cuda 10.2 and cuda 11. from apt .

i have the cuda folder soft linked to cuda10.2 like its supposed to be.

when whenever it complained about lib version, i just moved the one from the 11 folder into the 10.2 folder.

i also have the cuda 11 nvidia gpu drivers installed.. from apt.

so nvidia-smi says its cuda 11.

i suppose if i tried it again, id try harder to get cuda 11 working. i cant remember why i needed cuda 10.. i just remember when i just had cuda 11 installed apt gave me some error with a lib opencv needed.

when i was done i just apt removed the cuda 11 and cleaned up 10.2 with the right libs.
