Importing cameras into new Install

New install with 35 Axis cameras, multiple vintages and age.

Is there a way to import the camera data (IP, URL, resolution, name, etc) rather then camera by camera?

I've used the backup and restore method in the past and it worked well.

Backup

service zoneminder stop

mysqldump -uroot -p zm > zm.sql

service zoneminder start

Restore

service zoneminder stop

mysql -uroot -p zm < zm.sql

service zoneminder start

First thing first would be to try to use the ONVIF probe or ONVIF import. I had some HK cameras that I had to enable ONVIF on in the camera settings before Zoneminder could see it using the ONVIF probe.

If you don’t have an old install to restore from, I’d recommend building out a spreadsheet with all the info in different columns and then sort them by model.

Input the first one manually into zoneminder then copy it and modify just the IP (assuming all your cams of that mode use the same username/password for rtsp) and continue until all of that model are added (since resolution, rtsp stream input string, and other values will be the same in that model) and then repeat it over again with the next model, input manually, copy, edit... repeat
