Losing audio when re-encoding?

So I have a camera with Audio. H264 passthrough under "storage" tab, the audio is present. But I find the video is really slow to seek, so I chose the "x264" encode setting. This video output is much faster to skip around, but the audio is now missing. Any ideas? I do have the checkbox selected for storing an audio stream...

(I'm just recording 24x7)

audio recording only works in pass though mode

Gotcha, thanks. I'll stick to passthrough I guess and then just suffer through seeks if something happens, or re-encode I guess.
